Cost Center and Chart of Accounts

In ProcessFlex, Cost Center and Chart of Accounts are different but complementary structures. Both are part of the Financial module and are essential for organizing and analyzing financial transactions.

📍 Where to Access

From the main menu:

  • Financial > Cost Centers
  • Financial > Chart of Accounts

In these screens, you can create, edit, delete, and organize records.

🏷 Cost Center

A Cost Center identifies where (or to whom) a financial transaction is assigned.

It represents the department, area, project, person, or business unit responsible for the expense or revenue.

📌 What question does it answer?

> "Which area is responsible for this expense or revenue?"

Examples:

  • Administration
  • Sales
  • Marketing
  • Project X
  • Branch Office
  • Consulting

Where it is used:

Main purpose:

To enable analysis by responsible area or department.

📘 Chart of Accounts

The Chart of Accounts classifies the type of financial transaction.

It defines the accounting nature of the revenue or expense.
